Arcus Inspect Tablet Setup Instructions

The basic process is

  • Askaris will complete deployment and handover to 'Arcus Tablets' queue in freshdesk
  • Configuration details will be in the final Askaris response
  • Tablet Serial numbers will be in the ticket
  • Connect to tablets
  • Check Disk Space
  • Check Camera Resolution is 5MP
  • Check Auto date and time
  • Check the Arcus Inspect folder
    • If an existing folder with same sync site name as this job then rename or delete - this will be fatal if tablet is not synced up from last job!!
  • Stop and Check Arcus Inspect version running
    • Install / Upgrade / Uninstall then reinstall if needed
  • Set Arcus Sync Settings
  • Open Arcus Inspect App
  • Check can login
  • Allow to sync
  • Logout


Configuration Details

The ticket will contain details similar to below, these are case sensitive and the port number is important. If you need to check a user name then you can try logging in to the portal URL. You'll notice that the Sync Site, and Sync Server are just sub components of the URL

Version Required: 6

When it comes to which version, it is very important that you install the tablet version compatible with the portal deployed. Most will be the latest version, but some (Eg Brazil) maybe stuck on older versions. You can check compatibility by the first number, eg Inspect 6.0.1, 6.1.2 are all compatible with Portal version 6. They will not work with Portal version 4 (you need Inspect 4.x.x), as a general rule you should use the latest version of Inspect with the same initial version number.


Install Arcus Inspect

To check the version (if installed) and stop it from running (important), go to Settings, Apps, then tap Arcus Inspect. You should see similar to below.

If you need to install / upgrade / downgrade inspect then you can get it from Appcenter at https://install.appcenter.ms/apps# and use the Google account login option;

Click on Arcus Inspect, and you will see something similar to the below, choose the most recent build for the version specified below.




Once downloaded tap to install and follow the prompts, don't open at the end, we need to configure it first.


Configure Arcus Inspect

Open the Arcus Sync Settings App, you will see a screen similar to below, should be as simple as entering the Sync Server and Sync Site fields (they are case sensitive), and checking the other boxes are set correctly

Open the main Arcus Inspect App (if a new install then accept the permissions boxes and then press LGI normally, Drops if a Drops only job and click next), this will get you a login prompt - wait at this point, it will be downloading the user list from the portal.


After about 30 seconds try and login (case sensitive), if it fails wait a but longer and try again, you can see the sync status by swiping down from the top and looking at the Sync Notification, it goes through cycles (Eg Updating local database) and then gets to Sync Complete. Once you can login it will drop you at the main dashboard and the main sync begins, again you can see progress by looking at the notification shade above, this will take a good few minutes, the final stage is downloading any images, and then sync complete. You can logout at this point.
